To toww or not?

I've been asked to tow a 3,000 lb 2 axle trailer 50 miles. It has no brakes. I have a 51f1, 10 leaf rebuilt-to-stock rear springs, 4:11 Dana rear, strong 302 with C-4 and trans cooler. Michelins. Brakes are stock, but renewed last month. Frame hitch, 4 bolt.I've never towed more than a small uhaul before. 'See any problems with this?
Thanks

I don't see a problem if your pulling nothing but the trailer. If the trailer was loaded it would probally overload the original brakes.

It's not a question can you do it.. Sure you can do it. But the Question is of morality.

Are you the only friend this person has?? It's kinda like asking the groom can you bring his bride to be out on 1 last weekend date to Vegas !! Know what?? My 56 has already done it's work, she's now having a make-over so she can live out my days in luxuary. That's my 56 cents worth.

Check your state laws for trailer break requirements, some will require them and although you probably want have an accident it is always safer with them. These old trucks will stop after a little while with stock brakes, but being pushed by a 3000-pound load, it will take longer, a lot longer.

You never know what the other folks are going to do.

That's true. If I do this, it will be in the right hand lane, at 55-60 mph. (I'm in CA, where the 55 limit mph for trucks and trailers seems to actually mean 64 mph.) The C-4 and 4:11 rear should pull the load just fine. It IS the stopping that gets dicey.
