I had a problem a couple of weeks ago with my expy, When i took it to ford
They said that i was having problems with the truck charging its' self because of blown fuses in the engine. Prior to taking the truck to ford, I checked all of my mini-fuses, but not my relay (black) fuses. So the problem must have been one of those.How do You check them to see if they are not blown?

 

There is no such thing to my knowledge as a "relay fuse" Those black relays are jsut that relays. Did you check in both locations for blown fuses? There are also two fuses near alternator. One is a "mega" fuse of 175amp and another of 20 amp. May have been one of those.

 

Ok, It may have been one of those.The tech at ford said the fuses had never been touched,because of tape sealing them.How close to the alt are these hidden fuses? "By hidden i mean, not in the owners manual!

 

The fuses that you are talking about are on the drivers side of the engine compartment behind the big fuse box with the snap cover on it. It is a small rectangular box about 2"x3". Not really that close to the alternator.
