jaydcc69 is starting off with a positive reputation.
Alternator removal and installation

Has anyone replace an alternator on an Escape yet? If so, what is involved. I am replacing one on a 3.0 V6 Escape since mine went bad.

According to http://www.fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com where I am viewing the online technician service manual, it says to remove the right wheel and splash shield and the intermediate axle shaft. Is there any other way around it besides removing that shaft?

Jay

So just how did you get onto fordtechservice?
I'm pretty sure the axle has to be removed.
Yes it's a stupid idea but Ford has done that to us before. On a Contour it's the same except that you have to remove the exhaust too
