Dashboard speakers

I have a 1988 manual 4x4 and I have a problem with the speakers. I can't get the screws out of the dash around the speakers. They aren't stripped but they are getting there. Nothing seems to work. Any tips would be appreciated.

You might be able to get them out by pulling up as you turn, you would have to use pliers, etc.

i used a pair of visegrips with a screw bit in it to get the screws out of mine ...especially the ones in the front closer to the windshield. got those tight screws out fine like that...just a suggestion. post a reply if it works, if you try it.

I bought a set of right angle screwdrivers. They only cost about $5 and work great. It is slow doing but great for workign in those tight spots.

You can buy a little ratchet drive from Sears that has forward and reverse that holds the 1/4 drive bits. It also has a thumb turn. Fits perfect and works great on speaker windshields of Fords.
