Thumbs up Excellent Service Report, North Texas

Well, I just wanted to tell everyone of an actual GOOD review from a muffler shop. Jay's Muffler in North Richland Hills, TX did an awesome job on my Flowmaster 40 series single in/double out. This is expected and not actually the amazing part. What is amazing is that I really didn't like the sound of it. It was extremely loud (not in the cab). I called and talked to him about it and he told me to decide on a new muffler and he would replace it for the cost difference between the two. I got a Flo-Pro put on for $20.00 extra and he had no problems with doing it.

Total price to me: $270.00

Flowmaster 40 series SI/DO installed with 20" x 3.5" Chrome tips $250 tax included
New Flo-pro Muffler installed $20.00

Custumer for life...

Anyway, I know this isn't just a Texas site, but I like to spread the word on good to excellent service.

Well, I will have the Flo-Pro on this evening. I will take pictures, and report on what I think once I get home. The one thing about exhaust is that it doesn't take long to know if you like the sound of something....

Uawman, Other than the sound, it is actually one of many very good performance exhaust systems. I have read literature from several different vendors and they all claim to be able to explain why theirs is better than any of the others. They claim fuel mileage, hp, torque, etc.

I think you can find several good threads on this topic that have more qualified people to answer the questions....

I just think the Flowmaster is way too loud for my taste. I chose it from reputation more than anything else (mistake). I have a friend with a Flo-pro and it is quieter at cruising speeds and sounds more like a racing muffler while pushing it...

Okay, I got my muffler changed to a Flo-Pro and couldn't be happier. It is still meaty yet noise at cruising speeds (75-80) is minimal. I don't know any other way to explain the sound except to say it is a tight sound. Not tight as in the way kids use it these days, but in the musical sense. When a band is playing really well, they call their music tight.

anyway, I guess you can tell. My vote is for Flo-pro for sound issues more than anything else.
