Transmission leak at linkage area, need help please

This is a 87 5.0Lw/AOD. Its leaking at the linkage area of the transmission. I've taken off the bolt, lock washer, and arm going to the TV cable. However, the arm going to the gear selector does not want to come off that stud going into the tranny. Is it supposed to pop off or am I missing something here? I would imagine once thats off theres an o-ring that can be replaced...is this correct? Someone give me a rundown on how to fix this leak so I don't break it. The pans off right now so I figure if I need to be in there to replace or undue something, nows the time. Thanks!
