Leveling Kit vs Suspension Lift

I'm new to this stuff, but am excited to modify my new fx4. A guy at a shop told me that if i use a leveling kit it will change the camber and that i'll run into more problems than if i were to just do a suspension lift.

anyone have any advice as to what i should do?

i will eventually want to lift my truck a few inches, but my first concern is wanting to level it out. how should i go about lifting the front only to level my truck?

btw, i've been on FTE for less than a week and it's awesome!!!

Best bet is to use the "advanced" search option above. Learn to search this specific newsgroup. There's plenty of great discussion on this very issue.

I have the Daystar 2.5 Leveling kit installed and just put the Performance Accessories 3" Body Lift and have had ZERO problems. I would recommend an alignment after the leveling kit. I was told it was not necessary and I have some tire wearness after 12,000 on the outside driver dide tire. Getting it aligned today!

I say keep shopping around. I paid $30 for a front end alignment after I put my leveling kit on.

excuse my newbie question, but does a leveling kit act just like a body lift? (is it just raising the body from the frame?

also, if i later do a body lift after a leveling kit, is this considered "stacking lifts"?

levelling kit

The daystar they're talking about is a spacer that goes between the spring and the housing. It's not a body lift of any kind. It's actually raising the entire front end of the truck 2.5". I'm going to look heavily into this after my truck gets delivered in 2 weeks!

My alignment was $45.00 and it was out of alignment so I would recommend doing the alignment after the leveling kit.

When I 'checked out' and the alignment was done, the guy told me that it was a good thing i brough it in, cuz it was so bad they couldnt get a reading on the machine when they put in on.

Get the alignment after the install
