Attention All 57 - 60 F-series Owners for the Registry
#151
Sixoh, Hello and thank you for the reply! I guess its worth mentioning my 59 was bought new in Peru IN. I live in Muncie Ind and thats where the ol 59 resides. I am the third owner. I guess by looking at the people who registered, my 110 in wheel base is more uncommon than common. Thanks again.

New to the group I was looking for information about a 1960 Panel F100. The information I have is limited. I was hoping to find out where the VIN is on the truck. The Tag is missing and we've been trying to find a mark on the frame. The VIN on the old registration is F10J0R15033. Seems that it was originally a dark blue. Does anyone know of a heater and plenum available for it too? The original 6 has been long gone and a Mustang's 302 with a C4 has been stuffed in it. There's not a lot of information on the net for these things and I've only found a couple of catalog companies that carry any parts for it. We plan on cleaning it up and turning it into a daily runner with our company signage painted on it to promote my Custom Picture Framing business. I was told that it was originally purchased by Riverside Cleaners in the L.A. Area. We were surprised by how little rust was under the hippy carpeting and panels in the back. Also does anyone have any production numbers for these trucks... how many were made as panels... they seem few and fare between or long lost. Cheers! Justin

Thanks for the info. I've been putting the pieces back together and have come to the same conclusions except for the paint. I took a look at the paint in question and I think it is more the Corinthian White code M. As for the date I've been getting the idea that it was an earlier one. What was the wheel base for the Panel Vans? Also, who makes a reproduction data tag for these? I posted some photos to the following page http://www.jpjennings.com/van/ You can list it under Justin Jennings Bakersfield, CA 93306. We're still having trouble with our local DMV office getting it transfered. You really start to get the idea that CA really wants to get these off the road.

Mr. Sixoh,
I think what you are doing is absolutely wonderful. For those of us out there lookin For somethin different...57-60 is where its at. Just bought mine in August, got it for $1500. Only problem is that it has a 240-6 w/3-speed instead of the 223-6 w/ 4-speed. Oh yeah, the kid I bought it from was an "auto body" student and this was his first project!!! (holy crap Batman!!). Anyway, here's the info....BTW, I can't understand the color code...2-tone red & white???
F10J9K32529
110 REF10J 20C F
02 126 @4000
BTW, is the 'F' trans code a T-98A or just T-98?
I will e-mail you a picture...Promise you won't laugh!!!

Shane,
It's dark outside.
With a Zippo, reading my glove box upside-down, it appears the plate reads:
F10L10971
110 U 05L D 01
5000 153 4100 2925
Current color: Milk White
Plant Change: Chrysler 440 w/ 3 speed AT (not my doing, I've only had it six weeks)
4" suspension lift, 31x9.50 BFG AT's on deep dish 15x10 5 spoke Cragars. Wing, window, and back (small) glass, light-gray smoked, not filmed. Really straight cab, bedbox, and rear fenders. Crappy hood and gate, fence slat bed.
First Question: Anybody know where I can get hood emblems?? or a hood??
Next-to-last Question : Will a '60 hood swap straight out to a '58?? Ron, who has a '58 in the FTE wantads somewhere, was told the front clip has to be changed, whatever that is.
Last question: I know what a Fleetside is. Whats a Styleside & a Flareside?? I have a stepside; or DO I ???
Thanks-
Elvin

HA! Thermokitty - I knew what your VIN was. Anytime you stick a "8" and a "D" together, it gives you the smiley w/sunglasses. It's happened before.
F-1 Panel - sweet dude. Thanks for the two-fer!
I'll give you guys the info on the data plates. It's kinda neat to see your truck's pedigree....also, it will show what still exists out there in the registry.
