Hey everyone. I'm just wondering if anyone knows , or has had the same problem with their explorer that i'm having. My Explorer sport is surging when at a constant speed and feels as if it has lost alot of power. I changed the wires since one was cracked, but it still does it. I'm just looking for a few ideas about what maybe it should be, since i have to sink another$400 into it this week for a hub assembly.. Any assistance would be greatful..
Clean your MAF, IAC and throttle body. Make sure you use varnish safe throttle body cleaner on the throttle body and 02 safe cleaner on the MAF. May want to check the serpentine belt for slippage or looseness. Lastly, make sure you disconnect the battery while doing the cleaning.
Your MAF is located at the end of your air intake tube(oposit the throttle body). It is the flat black box right after the air box. The IAC depends on your engine. On my SOHC it is located on top of the engine under the "SOHC" cover.
Thanks again, I looked in my book, i could've figured it out, i'm so stupid sometimes,,. I'll try everything, its really starting to **** me off. I'm going to change the plugs to(92k). Maybe it will help
