replacing the factory radio 1996 EB Explorer
I was wondering if it were possible to change the factory Radio but keep the controls in the back seat when you can control the volume and station. i was told i would loose those features unless i were to replace it with the same JBL radio. i was thinking of upgrading to at least a factory CD radio with CD changer controls. i was also told since those systems are so complicated, not many people would touch it unless if they change the whole system itself with after market radios....can anyone shed some light to this???

It's a complicated system. But when you install an aftermarket system, you have to install an amp bypass. If you do that, the system will sound a whole lot better because the system will not use your stock amp. If you want to keep the rear audio control, I believe there're adapters for that. Good luck on your search!!

Jbl replace
I have a 96 explorer with the JBL radio and I want to replace it for the standard radio that comes with the other explorers. But that radio has an antenna input and the jbl doesn't, I think that the antenna signal goes in with the wires connector in the back. So, can I jus cut one of the cables of the connector and plug it in at the antenna input? And what wire should it be? Thanks.
