Power Steering leak

My power steering pump leaks in behind the pulley. Can you buy seals for these little puppies and if so is it hard to change? I have an 80 Bronco.

Being that the truck is an 80, chances are that pump has had it....

seals do wear out as do the pump bearings, Bearing and seal wear are pretty much synomymous so replace the pump and the leak will go away.

Aside from the leak, is the pump noisier than it used to be? if so....a new one will run quieter and steering will be easier.

cheers

PS the remanfcd units from Ford are not that much more expensive than the napa or autozone stuff and they last longer.

Thumbs up Yes, but

Yes you can buy seals for these - they're about 12 dollars. Honestly, it's not worth the time and effort you'll go through to wrestle the seal out and back in without damaging it. When I was faced with this same problem on my 95 F-150, the reman'd replacement pump from Advance only cost $34.00. I thought it was much better to renew EVERY seal in the pump at once, don't you think? I like Ford parts, but I have had good luck with my aftermarket P/s pump. Be sure to borrow the special tool for removing and installing the pulley - they bend easily if you don't center the extraction force on the center ring. Good Luck!!
