Exclamation help with fuel vacuum line!

ive been busy getting my demo car ready for the demo in july, i know i have more than enough time but last year was a last minute thing so this year id rather be done and ready to go early. this year im running a 78 olds and last year was a buick, both gm's. on the fuel tank theres the fuel line and the vacuum line, all i did last year was put a bolt in the vacuum line and i didnt have a problem, so i did it again this year and i started the car up this morning and was looking around at it and noticed that gas was leaking out like crazy from the vacuum line. am i supposed to find a way to get the vacuum line into the marine tank which is in my back seat? or is there something else i can do, it doesnt bother me that gas is leaking out but the officials arent gonna let me run with it like this. thanks for the help.

You shouldn't be building any pressure in the tank. If anything, it should be in a vacuum if it isn't vented. Someone didn't install an electric pump in there did they? I would think not or you would have seen the wires.
