Im only 21 so I wasn't around when my 1982 F100 was brand new. My truck has the 300, SROD, 9 inch with 2.75 gears. Manual windows, manual locks, No AC, rear sliding window, 8 foot bed, Manual brakes, Power steering, 2 wheel drive, 8 track player. I think thats all the options it has. It also has a strip down both sides with the word explorer at the back. I don't know if that is part of some option package. So anyone know how much these trucks went for brand new back in 1982? Thanks Fred
1982 Ford F100, rebuilt 300, offenhauser dual port intake, holley 390 carb, EFI exhaust manifolds, walker downpipe, comp cams 260 cam, .020 over, melling oil pump, pioneer harmonic balancer....
1995 Ford F150 300 I6, M5OD and 8.8
To give you some idea, I bought my F150 new in 83, paid $12,600, ordered from the factory. That was alot of money for a pickup back then!
It's a Super Cab, 8' bed, XLT, A/C, 300, 4sp OD, manual windows and locks, has cruise, power brakes, sliding window, AMFM Cassette (radio still works!) two tone paint, overhead clearance lights (only F150 in Texas with those??), gauges, 3.06 diff (in OD it runs 1600 rpm at 60 mph!).
Have added front bumper guards, chrome rims, stainless from the cat back, rear seat lift, vent visors, reupholstered front seat, factory tach/gauges cluster....170,000 miles now.
Anecdote: The guy on the assembly line must have seen the clearance lights and assumed it was an F350, cause it came with the larger lug wrench for larger lug nuts!
