Post '53Merc Update

Well I'm feelin' kinda pleased with myself tonight on account a' I painted for the first time with a HVLP spray gun I'd bought on sale at Princess Automotive.
The first coat of primer on my new bedsides, tailgate and doors went on real easy and turned out very well if I do say so myself
However, I'm real tired after a busy weekend and I have lots more to do after work this week which I'm quite looking forward too!

Nice to see some one else that shops at Princess Auto, what model gun did you buy and how much was it? They have great deals when a sale comes up.

Red face

I bought it in a kit about 6 months ago, on sale of course! It has a large & small gun in a grey plastic case. They are both HVLP guns and came with a clean up kit and air micrometer for precise air control! But what do I know , I'm a beginner at this stuff

Model # KC-206.

Put the paint on the back of the cab, the 3" dropped dash I fabricated and a few othe rsmall pieces along with the reverse dise of the doors.

It's progress not perfection

Way to go, maybe some day I can join your ranks! Never quite got the courage to try my hand at spray painting, always got some one else to do it for me. Now it is getting very hard to find any one to do it on a casual basis. Years ago I used to work in a paint shop for a short time when lacquer was used for priming, now the paints used are quite different.

Thumbs up

Fomoko1;
I was nervous about it as well but the urethane primer/catalyst 2 part primer I used was surprisingly easy and forgiving. I'm feeling very good and my learning curve is flattening out nicely!

Perhaps the combination of HVLP & new product really are good innovations.

Penn Dick, 'fenders,Vern,Mr.4spd, et all,

Notice all these Canucks coming outa the woodwork!

Pretty soon ther'll be enough of us to pass a motion requiring the correct spelling of words like colour/flavour etc. in this forum.....

Now that june is here, we're all pretty much dug outa the snow and moving about... Be afraid, be very afraid!

Have you already hung up your snow shoes? My igloo hasn't even started to melt!
