Can someone tell me what size speakers fit in the rear speaker area on a F-250 superduty XL? I was looking on Ebay and saw three diffrent sizes, the wires are there but need to buy speakers.

 

I believe they are 5X7. Cruthfield.com can tell you based on year and body style.

I just ordered a pair of 6x8s so thanks again everyone..

 

they are 6x8's. the wires will be cliped up right above the speaker hole there if you didnt have factory rear speakers. just installed them in my 04 that came with the am/fm two speaker setup.

If you use enough duct tape and a shoe horn you may get a 6x9

 

I have an '01 reg cab myself and have 6x8's behind seats and in the doors too.....I highly recommend looking into Dynamat or some competitor..really makes things quiet.

 

the correct speaker is a 6x8, but all 5x7's come with universal mounting tabs to fit both 5x7 and 6x8 holes, since only a few true 6x8 speakers exist, to clarify the argument about whether they are 5x7 or 6x8's.

if you havnt bought already, the best speaers to buy are the plates with round mid ranges and a tweeter. thats what i plan on upgrading my doors two when i get a chance, for now it was just pioneer 6x8's in the back so i have 4 speakers.
