87 Ford E350 van has high temp/oil guage readings I changed senders and inst regulat
HELP !
my 87 E350 Ford van water temp oil guages suddenly read high or pegged
changed the thermastat ,water sender, inst cluster regulator ($$$) and used a borrowed infrared temp reader that shows the readings on the guages are false---
(now it tells me after I spent big bucks on parts and lotsa hours)
Anyone have the same and know the "fix" ????

My '88 club wagon has always shown at the extreme high end of 'Normal' on the temp gauge, before and after new rebuilt engine and new sender. Several shop checks have shown the actual operating temperature to be not so extreme. So, I've just learned to re-adjust my frame of reference for this vehicle. Someday, maybe Santa will bring me an aftermarket gauge that shows actual temp, or maybe oil temp. Just wish I could be good for awhile instead of naughty...
