96 powerstroke hesitation

Got a `96 stroke with aftercooler, u.s. gear chip, downpipe, k&n, pyrometer and boost gauges, stock exhaust with the honeycomb knocked out of the cat. ive had the cam position sensor replaced and all checks at the dealer were good (boost fuel pressure etc.)maintanance has been done including fuel filters. The truck has a slight hesitation off idle, and it wouldnt be noticeable except that it is a stick shift and during gear changes the flat spot is amplified. I bought the truck with 60,000 miles and it has always had it. It it slightly better with the chip in place. the truck runs pretty good-but i think it should be better. It is equipped with a high altitude package, and i have never gotten an answer as to what that is. I think it is probably a leaner fuel\timing map in the p.c.m. but i still dont know for shure. does anyone know if there are adjustments for the throttle rheostat and or the second switch at the pedal. (sequence and methods for checking?)what is the second part or micro switch on the throttle bracket? and lastly can i switch pcm`s and put another one in from a non "Hi altitude truck"? I know ill have to adress the chip. I live in so cal so the "hi altitude package does me no good.

I have no clue about the high altitude package but I do remember how the throttle pot works. It sends a signal to the computer ranging from 0-5 volts, DC. Mine had a flat spot just off idle also. I found that as the the throttle was lowered mine would go up to 1.7 volts then drop back to zero momentarily then resume the upward scale. Ford does not sell the pot individually so I was stuck buying the whole throttle assembly at about $150 bucks.
