Question Glass Packs...LOUDER???

I took some of your advice here on the site and got some the cat back, true dual exhaust with a couple of glass packs. It sounds like a V6, as to be expected. I have heard that if you spray water on the muffler, or into the pipes it may make it louder, is there any truth to this or will it just screw my system up???

The method I have heard is to spray water INTO the GP after you have heated it up completely. It will help pack the material more, letting more sound through. Just dont spray too far into the pipe.

Dunno, I have never done it, just heard of lots of people that tried it and made their exhausts louder. I've never been a fan of super loud exhausts.

Just run your truck for 2-3 minutes so the exhaust heats up, then shut off the truck and stick the hose in there and squirt some water in... I wouldn't do a lot of water. Maybe park on a hill so that the back end is pointing slightly downward so that the water doesn't slowly drain up into your cats. Even though your cats can handle the water just fine, I still wouldn't want to cool down the cats quickly, their innards tend to crack and fall apart when cooled quick. Although it does look cool when you start your truck and pieces of platinum come shooting out the exhaust

i've heard a few different ways of doing it. i had a huge GP on my pickup b4 i had a FM put on..and i found a way to break some of it out. take water and run it in the pipe as mentioned, then beating it with a hammer can help seperate the pieces. i did the process quite a few times and it actually did get louder. at times pieces of fiberglass would come flying out of the tips...it was kinda cool.
