How many miles on your 351W?

I have 205,000 miles on my 351W and E40D. Does not burn oil and runs great. How many miles do your motors have?

351W miles

1995 F350 Crew Cab. 292,XXX and counting. Ordered in Nov. 94, delivered 2 December 2004. Burns / leaks virtually no oil. Great power, mileage ok - 11.5 to 15. E4OD [still runs & shifts like new], 4:10 rear axle ratio. Paint faded, body good.

I thought very hard about a Power Stroke [they had just come out], but just could not bring myself to spend the extra $4000; especially with good experience from two other 351Ws.

Best of all: no payments!

dn.

1994 F150 4x4 w/camper option 125.000 HARD miles. No oil other than what the rusted out pan drops, no smoke other than the tires make when I stomp on it. The stock E40D is still holding strong knock on wood.

I have worked this truck like a 1 ton and I have even pulled a semi with an empty flat bed stuck in the snow! Im still shocked that it did that. I will love this truck till death do us part!
I get around 15 mpg now that I changed my TPS

A '85 F250 with a 351 W 2V with just at 41,000 miles total since new. It's been used as a farm truck and occasional runs to the lumberyard and feed store. Runs better than the day it was bought. Have had to replace most of the hoses and some electrical harness because of age but no major repairs.

160,000 and some change... Needs a tranny flush, and filter, but other than that runs great.

1988 F-250 351W, FI, 235,000 miles and runs good. Small tranny leak, have to check the bolts one of these days. However, lousy gas mileage, but what do you expct from a truck?

Are you sitting down??? Better be, or you might fall, nah i'm just a friendly lady with a sense of humour. We own and operate a garage, and i have a 1989 Lincoln town car with 667,000 miles on it!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it runs like brand new too!! I bought the car brand new in Septemeber of 88, and change my oil every 2000 miles and the filter, and use 20w50 Castrol motor oil..It's no lie, and that engine is even clean as a whistle under the hood, now it has had water pump changed, power steering lines several serpentine belts and one electric fuel pump and i chage the plugs every 25k miles, and it is fuel injected. Runs so quiet you can't hear it hardly. Oh BTW, it's a 302....Janet

Janet, That is a great story! I have heard rumors of the Lincoln Town Cars in New York getting that kind of mileage on the motors. I have done the fuel pump on my car and the AC clutch, but that is it. I run Castrol 20/50 and I change it every 5000. I do the plugs every 50000. I am a little lazier than you are.

The way i ended up putting all those miles on that car was because i for 13 years would drive on Saturday and visit my Mother in Kennedale Texas, by Fort Worth, and drive from Houston every Saturday afternoon. then every wednesday, i would go to Hutto texas from houston and look at marks classic cars. It was the scenery and me just loving the way the car drove, plus i loved stopping at shops along the way, so i was putting about 4000 miles a month on that car. I guess, afterall, there;s no rust or dents and i would put a towel on the drivers seat seat to keep the leather looking new i may never get rid of the car either as far as that's concerned. I have a 1989 Cadilac Brougham too, and i have to admit, its a better built car, but i think that town car is more fun to drive. I still have the same transmission in it too, ......Janet

91 Bronco, E4OD, 351w

My 91 Bronco has about 190K miles on the original tranny and motor and treats me very well. Had to replace a few little things of course ( battery, alternator, etc ), but this has been a great truck, its still runs strong, gets about 11 MPG average and has never left me stranded.....
