Looks Like Another Stormy Night

Looks like we could be in for some bad weather again. Hope anyone out traveling or even at home stay safe.

You guys down in Wichita it looks like there is a storm coming your way. Be careful.

Dan (ultrmagdan) I see things are getting stormy in your area also.

Seems like all the storms just go around us here in Alma. They have had them to the north, east, west and south but nothing here.

It's that time of year so take care all this is Kansas.

Me and the girlfriend were going to go to the Loony Bin tonight to celebrate my birthday (it was the 26th, thanks for asking), but we're not real sure about it now. Gonna check oout the weather for a bit and then decide.

looks like they had a few tornadoes on the ground down by Harper, moving NE, Im keeping an eye on em! I was in the 99 Haysville tornado so now I keep an extra close watch, and run for cover if anything even resembling a tornado comes around!

The sky turns black, the wind blows, lightening and thunder everywhere, but WHERE"S the Rain????

It looks bad to the west but so far nothing bad here. I will probably have to wait until 1:00 am for things to get nasty.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

There is just too many people out camping to make it a uneventful night.

Everyone stay safe. I hope it doesn't get to bad here. I don't have a garage so my truck is sitting out in the open.

Be careful.

It missed us to the south, the Tornado sirens went off for awhile, but all is well in my neck of the woods.

Edit* KcSport, it was my folk's place, they had a basement and we didnt, so we went over to their place and rode out the storm, the tornado missed my place by 1/4 mile, but Im glad we went to my folk's place because if it would have hit my house there would have been nothing left. The truck you see in the pic was my Dad's, the thing barely had any miles on it, it was sitting in the garage, but the garage blew away, the pic was taken may 4th 1999, one day after the tornado, BTW the truck fired right up and drove it out!

Wow Mitch that was close. Were you there when it hit?

Been watching the storms my boys (fordthug and trimmellford) are ar the granparents house. They live in Conway Springs which is about 30 miles northeast of Harper.

Nothing has hit here so far. Hope everyone is ok.

We were all huddled under the staircase in the basement of the house you see in the picture, my two parents, plus me, my wife, our two kids, plus three neighbors from next door. So nine of us total.

The amazing thing was that the house still stood, it was an F4 and you can barely tell it but the houses all around were flattened.

yes it followed the RR tracks right up thru the middle of town, my folks lived just north of the big ditch, and the Tornado tracked straight up Seneca all the way to Highway 235.

What did your Grandma teach? which school? Me or my kids may know her since I also went to school here.

Cant remember which one I will ask her and tell you later. It is on the road that goes by the water towers i think it is 71st street. Not the catholic school but to the east a ways into town. Her name is Rena Chapman. She taught differant classes but the last few years she had the problem kids class. I think it was Haysvile JR High

That was close. The tornado that hit just outside Conway Springs was within less then a mile of my in-laws house. My kids are there this weekend also. We tried calling but they had lost power and couldn't get through untill about 10 this morning. Lick was with them they didn't get hit and got to a house with a basement but they sure had some scary moments.
