Has anyone heard of a wind-up (instead of 6v electric) clock for the 55 Ford cars, T-Bird, Fairlane, Customline, Mainline? I never heard of wind-up clocks for them until now.

I'm trying to find a replacement for my electric clock, which isn't working, and a fellow on eBay has been trying to convince me otherwise - windups were more common, for reasons that don't sound too convincing to me.

 

As a prior owner of a 56 and, if you own a 56, you learn all aboout the 55s, since they are so similar....I have never read or seen a wind up clock. The Crown Vic Association magazine (54-56 Fords, all car models) has never to my knowledge listed anything like this. You might try Concours Parts; they are in California. They specialize in these models and would know more than me.

 

The 55 clock was specific to that year only. Mine is electric, but I see the windup version on ebay routinely. John
