Yes, I've heard of 2WD BII's. I don't think they're near as common as 4WD versions, but they do exist. Is that all you want to know, or is there more to your question?

 

My '89 B2 is a 2WD. I wouldn't take it mud bogging but the clearance is the same for places where traction is ok.

 

My 88's a 2WD too...
As I mentioned before it has a Transfer case.Which may be a dummy,I'm not gonna' crack it open to check...

i wish i could find a 2wd b II .. i went threw alot of crap to make mine 2wd with a 302 conversion ... im looken for another one so if you all see any 2wd b II's for sale hit me up with a pm or post here .. thanx

I bought a 2wd '87 bII last December. It does have a dummy x-fer case, plugged where the shaft would normally be. The Haynes I have says the plug is welded and not meant to come out. I have taken mine out in semi-serious mud holes and have yet to have a problem. I love the thing but would deffinitely reccomend a winch if you go thru mud w/ the 2wd.

 

they did make 2wd BII's..they just had a dummy tranfer case in them
