I went to the Lima truck show for the first time and it was awesome. I got to the fairgrounds around 3pm on the last day and a couple of good Ford guys lifted up the gate for me to get in; avoiding the $17 dollar charge to see the last two hours of the show. I hope we can have a group meeting at the show next year.
I have some good news. I am buying a new truck tomorrow. It is a 1988 F150 4X4 w/ 302 5-Speed 97,000 miles for $1300. I hope my current truck, 1988 I6 4-speed 2wd w/ 220,000 miles, will find a good home when I put it up for sale.
I am looking for a good cab for my 1985 F150 4X4 project truck so if anyone knows of one, or sees something good at the junk yard, please let me know. Also, my brother is looking to sell his 1978 F250 4X4 project truck if anyone is looking. He has like $11,000 invested.
I'm pretty sure your 88 I6 will find a good home. Those 4.9L motors sure do last long and you just broke it in for the next person.
I sure do hope the gas prices go down soon, just as well. I have a 96 F350 Crew Cab Dually 4x4 w/460. Now that thing will suck me dry. I went to a Krogers Fuel last week and the pump stopped at $50 . My two tanks weren't quite full yet. Filled up the front tank but the rear one went up to 3/4 full. Plus I wasn't totally empty either, when I pulled in.

Our Fords do love their fuel but they get us where we are going reliably, and with style. My current 88 has the cast iron 4-speed with granny 1st gear. The rpm's soar on the highway as the fuel gauge drops.

After I read the post that most people backed out of Lima due to high gas prices, I did not make any effort to rendezvous with FTE members.
Gas prices will prevent me from making the trip to Columbus this time around. When I replace the ball joints and wheel cylinders in the new truck, I will certainly make future meetings. Have fun without me and if you could, please keep your eyes pealed for a good 85 regular truck cab.
Stuff I have for sale:
1) 1990 2wd 5-speed transmission with 80K
2) 1985 2wd c-6
3) 1985 I-6 w/57K & 1982 c-6 w/95K
4) Multiple steering columns from 1982 to 1990
5) 1992 rebuilt 302 motor w/ good AC and only 4,000 miles

Don't know of any 64 Tbird parts right now but my brother has a couple of parts left over from his stolen 64 Fairlane. I do have a friend that has a couple of good 351 Clevelands that he will sell cheap.

Just checked as to where Brunswick is. Now I see what you mean...
Hopefully you can get a couple of guys (or gals, I suppose) to car/truck pool and be there saturday.
I'll get you some pictures of the '82 and talk to you later.
