Screw 4x2 MPG

I have been dissapointed with my MPG. I am only getting 15 on my 4x2 with the 5.4, I have been calculating with the computer and by hand and their both identical. I have a hard cover which should improve the mpg. I got 17 on my GMC 4x4. I do not drive hard, and I have a mix of street and highway

I'm sure this has been discussed, but what is everyone else averaging?

I average around 16-17 with a soft cover. before i installed the cover i was getting around 15-16, so actually i only gained about 1 mile per gallon. This is on a 4.6 STX scab 4x4.

Also, does anyone know if the "reflash" would help gas mileage any?

I'm only getting 13.3 with my screw 5.4 4x2 3.73 with 8000 miles on it! Mostly city driving. My 2001 5.4 screw got 18 mpg.

I have a 4x2 Screw XLT with a bed cover and I've been averaging anywhere from 12.5 to 17 mpg, and I'm not pushing it. It has around 1100 miles, so it's still breaking in.

Try a little more pressure

I'm getting 18.45MPG mixed with 5000k on the odo. I have a heritage additions though and the mighty V6. Try putting a little more air in the tires, like about 4 more pounds each.

Please, please, let's talk horse power, ride, pulling power, comfort, stero, anything but gas mileage. With the price going up and the poor mileage of big V8, I like to focus on the good attributes of my new ride.

I know I'm not driving a solar powered car, but I am a bit dissapointed since it is a 4x2, I drive pretty conservative, and I still get less than my old 4x4.

Being that I guess I will have to focus on other things

My wife and I recently rented an 04 supercrew with the 4.6 and on one full tank of gas we got 19.2 mpg with the cruise set on 70 most of the way. This one was well broken in with over 8k on the odo.
