Suggestions for an inexpensive truck bed cover?

Heading to Minn from WA state with camping gear, suitcases, and picking up my new 11 ft. Slide in camper. I'd like to keep my gear dry, but I don't want to buy a canopy because I won't be able to take that back with me after the Camper is on the truck. I was considering a tarp, but that would probably leak. Any suggestions? (The entire bed will be filled with stuff, from sleeping bags to kids bikes)

I had a similiar problem with a company truck. Took a big peice of cardboard, melted parrafin and coated the top side. I secured it with a bunch of cloth covered shock cord material from Boaters World, one cord over, one cord under all the way down the bed. I think I made up seven cords. Didn't throw anything away. Used the shock cord for other projects, and the parrafined cardboard made an excellent "Creeper"

I have run the same type issues on occasion. One suggestion: go to a recycling center where people sell aluminum cans, they sell large thick plastic bags that they use to bundle cans. They make great seal-ups to temp truck bed transport.
