We just had a discussion on this, the thread is probably a page or two back. I haven't talked to anybody that doesn't like it. It has about equal energy as #2 diesel but a number of benefits that make it a better choice: better lubricity, higher cetane rating, meets all the emission requirements, can act as a solvent for you fuel system, for soybean biodiesel-provides a great market for soybeans, and reduces the amount of money we are sending to the middle east!

I use to farm soy beans and was in the program. Uncle Sam under the Clinton Admin. pulled the plug on it. Bean prices dropped again so went to farming bermuda hay. I dont know if the oil companies have picked up on it.

Too bad you didn't stay in soybeans. We've had some pretty high prices lately, over $10.00/bu, but it's gone back down a little bit again.
I think there is work again to get subsidies for biodiesel. I know they have them for enthanol, here in Iowa it's cheaper for us to buy ethanol than it is regular gas. It'd be great if biodiesel was the same.
A rule of thumb for the price of biodiesel is $0.01 more for every 1% of biodiesel blend. So if you get a 2% biodiesel blend, it would cost two cents more than regular diesel.
