Plug is in back of pan use fl820 motorcraft filter with 5w20 oil cpacity 7 qts. If it is a 5.4 3valve fill the filter 1/2 full of oil before reinstalling.Filter removes through the lower front.

From what I have seen on other posts about your first oil change, you may want to get a filter socket as well. I've heard they are pretty tough to get off coming from the factory, and the old school filter removers are no help.

I get my first year free from my dealer, so I haven't had to do it myself yet. In right now as a matter of fact for it's 2nd oil change and some warranty items.

I had heard the same thing about being hard to get off, but I was able to change mine with an "old" style wrench with no problem.

I've been removing the air intake tube (one small bolt) making it very easy to get at the filter from the top.
