Option for GMC trucks...
Alternative fuel conversions, conversion-ready engine, includes internal modifications for operation with natural or propane gas (KL5)
As long as the Diesel HP and Torque go with it, I might like that better than diesel so long as it's nice and cheap!

It is ok as long as you use duel fuel for cng...the tanks that come on the trucks only have a range of about 100 miles...and you can't just fill them anywhere...plus it is getting to be expensive....plus the cng conversion runs about at least 3500 bucks...propane is running over 2.00 a gallon plus you have to buy an alternate fuel use permit that runs about 250 bucks a year...propane kits run about 1500 bucks...plus the mileage isn't as good as gasoline...on good thing is you don't get dirty oil and the plugs last longer...our company had propane on all of our trucks and cars...it was cheap for us because we were paying about $.45 per gallon because we were a large gas company...we even had some GMC' on cng that we were trying out for Gm...they lasted about 6 months...we were using them on primarily on cng but when they went to use gas they had to change all the fuel injectors....plus range with the tanks with 3500psi (full) they only got from 70 to 80 miles between fill ups...no practical...even for a gas company....rather have my diesel....Ford does have Cng conversion for the Crown Victoria and I believe propane may be availible on the larger trucks...
As for special mods for engine there are none...it the truck runs unleaded gas they are capable of running propane or cng...you only need a reg to convert the propane from liquid to vapor...cng is a vapor already....
