Bugs Off the Truck

I need some help getting dead bugs off the front/grill of the truck. I spent the last hour or so trying to wash the bugs off, however, some "stuff" was left on the truck. Is there any type of product that i can buy that will make my job a little easier? Also on a side note had the throttle reprogramed...turning out of walmart i hit the gas spun the tires and slung the backend, now i actually have the 300 horses ready to go!!!

Did you take it to the Dealer to get the throttle reprogrammed? From a dead stop I cannot even squeal the tires.

Your local auto supply store should carry a bug & tar remover. Works great! Just do that before you wash and your good to go. Stuff I got is in a white can with a great big "BUG & TAR" on the front. Sorry that's all the help I can give.

On a related note, certainly not trying to hijack the thread, has anyone had the clear plastic film (there are several different brands) installed on the front end? Lots of high-end car owners use the stuff and swear by it. I think this would not only protect from rock chips but bug damage too. Might make the mashed ones easier to remove at the same time.

On a previous F-150, lots of the paint on the leading edge of the hood was destroyed by bug residue. Of course, with modern clear coat finishes, the paint is entirely different now.

Just got it put on my truck today baby!! Check out the 'Official dzervit new F150 thread' or my gallery. Have both car (325i) and truck done. Don't think I'll ever have a new car w/o it again... it is easier to clean!

dzervit - I missed that thread entirely. Must have been the title. Sorry to be redundant and thanks for the info. I'm going to look into it.

"Hey, I want this done" or did you complain and see what they said?

There's a product called REJEX that we use on airplanes that's the best I've found. I've also had success with a coating of Pam cooking spray, and even WD-40.

http://www.corrosionx.com/rejex.html

BTW, I'd also be intersted in knowing what the updated program code was. They should've left a sticker on your door or under the hood. Inquiring minds want to know!

i used wd40 and wash it off real good and wax it again. a good coat of wax should keep it slick enough to get all the bugs and stuff off.

I have found a product from a company out of NC the best out there for removing bugs.

Duragloss bug remover #471

It is clear coat safe and will not remove the wax.
If you would like more info please let me know

Okay i checked all the doors, and under the hood, and none of the stickers have changed, i also looked on the ticket here is what it says: "Customer states there is hesitation on accel...WDS test KOEO Pass Cont Pass KOER Pass PID Monitor recal PCM." what all the means who knows. when i talked to the service guy he said there was a reflash out for my problem, i want to say he said TSB, but don't quote me. He also told me all the trucks on the lot got the reprogram.

Okay the bug stuff, the guys that use WD40, does that mess up the wax enough so that i will have to rewax the area? Cellman40 i am very interested in the Duragloss stuff let me know. CC it is a shame we don't use the REJEX on the B-52 when we are done beating up the pattern for about 3 hours the plane is trashed with bugs.

With my new $35K truck, I'm going to stick with products from the car care professionals. Pam or WD-40?? That makes me shudder...

Here are a couple products from Meguiar's. I kinda like the handy wipe dispenser...
