Question X Plan the best price?

I have done just enough research to identify that I have the X Plan available for use from my company. Other than other special incentive plans (i.e. A Plan) is the X Plan a simple "no haggle" price that I can rely on to be the best price. I am aware that their are rebates that can be taken on top of the X-Plan and I will seek those out, but I wanted to verify that I can't miss with the X-Plan.

I got mine for X-plan minus the advertizing fee. If I had it to do over I would not mention that I had x-plan and just shoot for about 200 under invoice. You can always fall back on the x-plan. I ordered a Ranger XLT. It's been 'at the ramp' since last Friday... I'm beginnning to worry about that.

I tried to get a dealer to go 200 over invoice on a F-250 and he flat out said no way.
Please excuse me for being ignorant, but what is the x-plan?

Gunther. If you click on the X-Plan in any of the previous messages it will redirect you the ford website which describes the X-Plan. The basics as I know it is that the X-Plan is a special set pricing offered to employees of select companies (primarily) who do business with Ford. It is a price based on the actual invoice price of the truck. There apparently is also a A-Plan that is provided for employees of Ford.

Yes, there is an A-plan, which I believe is a little bit better than the X-plan. My dad works at the Ford Engine Plant in Lima (ohio) and has bought a few new vehicles for family members, himself, etc using the A-plan. If I remember correctly, he goes in and says A-plan, they bring out the invoice, and he gets the car/truck for like 5-10% below invoice, then Ford reimbuses the dealership for the difference between what it was sold for and the invoice that the dealership paid for it.

In the X-plan you pay like 5% over invoice maybe?

I do know the A-plan is below invoice...

Thanks for the info OKF150. I did try the link, only thing I found was a price quote but no description of the plan.

Thumbs up

Hi

I think x-plan is $200 under invoice. If you try hard enough with a few dealers you should be able to do this good. It takes some work to get the best price. Try Bobbie williams Fleet Manager at Sunrise Ford He will give a a good price.

A-Plan is what Ford Motor Company employees pay. X-Plan is A-Plan plus 4% plus $150. It usually works out close to invoice, and is great if you live in an area where prices tend to be high and you have to negotiate for 4 hours just to get a decent price. X-Plan will help you by-pass all that. You can buy on the FTE program for $200 below X-Plan, and you still get the rebates. If it's a 150 and we have it in stock, you can buy it right now for $1200 below invoice, less rebates.

I have been working a deal on a Diesel Lariat for a few weeks now... I am about ready to pull the trigger. I kept trying to get the dealer to drop the final cost under X-plan (which is about $100 under invoice on this truck) and he wouldn't do it...<O</O

OK I tell him forget the X-plan if can he give me a better bottom line... I haven't signed the papers yet but I am probably going to this weekend. The bottom line ends up being around $33k. The MSRP started out to be $39,785 and the X-Plan price was $35,073 He used the X-plan cost to start from and subtracted the Ford $1500 rebate and tossed in $500 more from his dealer incentive.<O</O

I called a Dealer 100 miles away that wanted my business also and they offered $200 more incentive to buy one from them...

The $33k is a round number because they have to add in the tax and license fees before they take out the $1500 ford rebate so the final cost should be around $33,200 My cost under MSRP will be around $6,600.

Im working on an F-150 SCrew deal right now and the dealer has offered me 500.00 under dealer invoice plus the 1500.00 Ford rebate for a total of 2000.00 under dealer invoice. If I were on the east coast I would definately talk to 1956MarkII about his 2700.00 below invoice deal.

Well, now to throw things really off the scale, I got my F-350 for 11,000 off MSRP.

Hunter,

Yeah I followed your thread a while back. That is a heck of a deal, but I believe it to be out the ordinary. I certainly don't think I would be willing to jump through hoops. Additionally, I am looking for a very specific vehicle and will likely special order it.

Congrats on your bargain though!
