Question 97 F150 Broken Sliding Rear Window Latch

A couple of days ago someone felt the need to break-in to my '97 F-150 XLT Supercab in the parking garage at work. They apparently applied enough force to the sliding rear window to break the fixed "latch" on the frame of the fixed window toward the passenger side. The spring loaded latch on the sliding window is fine. I've seen postings of people saying that it is very easy to force the rear slider open, but none reporting a broken latch. Any idea on what it takes to fix the latch? I'm afraid that I need to remove the entire window and replace the frame. Hopefully someone will tell me that that isn't the case. Oh yeah, they did all that for a lousy $3.00 in loose change. Well worth it.

Hi Hal and welcome to the forum
I think you're right about having to replace the whole thing.
I wonder if a rivetted latch off an older slider could be made to work?
