Does Anyone Have Info On What Parts Are Required And Will Work For The Conversion Process......thanks For Any And All Help....this Place Is Awesome.....
Didn't the 97 F-350's have solid axle's? If they did then it should be a fairly easy bolt it swap. All the holes will already be in the frame in the right places.
im workin on doing the same thing, ya need axle, tie rod, springs, spring mounts, shocks work off old one, pitman arm, drag link, front driveshaft,
i helped a buddy do it on his truck and it took us 10 hours between the two of us, im just having a hard time finding a front axle whithin what i want to spend. there was an artical i found on it somewhere i think it was here on it. think i searched under dana 50
I just did the swap last winter on a 96, same truck. You will need a dana 60 obviously, all the steering linkage, the track bar and track bar bracket, i have pictures of all this if you want to see. you will need the brakes off the dana 60 and calipers. I was told your F-250 springs will work, but i went with the F-350 because they we positivly arched and rode better. People will tell you that the 250 driveline is to long, but unless you plan on jumping your truck through the air, you will be fine, any ?'s feel free to email me.
I have been looking for a Dana 60 for quite a while. They are very tough to come by. Ford in their infinite wisdom just had to reverse the pumpkin so that they would have yet another b@st@rd part.
I don't really see how anything is diffrent with the reverse axle. My front driveline is so steep that I can't run with the hubs in because it howls too much.

how much lift are you running? I have 6" and havent had any problems
I only have 4" a lift. I can't even run with it in 4 low with the hubs out. The angle is aweful and don't even waste your money adding a CV joint to the driveline because that doesn't cure it either.
wow, i have 6" and 37" tires and have never had any problem with driveline angle, i wheel all the time too. I had the cv driveline and sold it. It came with my axle
