Hitch For 1994 F-150 Long Bed

Drilling the holes in the frame is not all that difficult. The toughest part of the hitch installation is arranging everything so that your spare tire still fits after the hitch is installed.
Position the hitch and lock it in the position you decide on with some c-clamps. Then drill some 1/8 pilot holes exactly in the center of each hitch mounting hole. Remove the hitch and drill the holes to their final size. This requires a heavy duty 1/2 inch drill and about an hour of hard work.
Put hitch into place, add any adjustment shims to level things out, then bolt the hitch in place with grade 8 fasteners (toss any grade 5's that come with the hitch). Torque the fasteners with a torque wrench and you are done.

Ha ha.
Yeah, just about three months ago I installed a "hidden hitch" receiver onto my (new to me) '94 150 LB.
Drilled 5 holes, all OK.
But on the 6th hole, the bit bound up in the hole. I had to pull hard to get it out. In the act of pulling, my thumb caught the (stupidly placed IMO ) lock button for the drill, keeping it ON . As the drill came out of the hole, it caught my shirt and hit me in the face before I could get the D**N thing unplugged.
What's the definition of a guy? Someone who saved sixty bucks of installation labor, by spending two hundred at the dentist on that chipped tooth.
