'72 Ranchero heater core replacement
Dog gone it! Lost the heater core.
Is this the ususal ugly job and any tips? I know it is summer but I can take the time now to change it out. I have already bypassed the core.
I see a replacement runs about $90. I have a local guy who has done radiators for me but never a heater core. What should I expect from him or bite the bullet and buy a new one?
thx in advance, r

i agree, $90 is way high for just the part, installed is a pretty good deal though! LOL it's not really that bad a job, does yours have A/C? i need one too, but i'm already more than 1/2 way there cuz i'm pulling the A/C and putting in a heat only box that came with an indoor water feature.

Yes on the A/C equiped. I'm glad it is not one of those ugly heater core jobs. I will take my time as the car is my daily drive over the summer to replace. I do like the heater available though if stuck in traffic and the temp moves up.
I run a flex fan an primary with an electric fan and backup here in So. Calif.
