That is a great question, I'm looking to chop mine but am also worried about the glass. I spoke with a local safelite shop and they said that the glass would run me about $800, that made me decide to rethink the chop.

ratio 4:1

There's one on ebay for 200 bucks, and yeah 350 is about average. As far as getting it cut there are several ways, one is taking it to a shop and have them break, I mean, cut it for your or doing it yourself, the ratio is usually 4 to 1, 4 broken ones to one good cut. Many shops, if you can find one, wouldn’t even touch it, some wouldn’t even know why you would want to do that (I've walked into several of those).

I have seen, never tried it myself, a buddy cut one with a sandblaster but broke it cause he rushed it. Let me know if you need any more info on this, I have a couple of books that cover that and several online forum how-to's saved on my computer. I will eventually take that plunge for my chopped Olds and have alot of research on it.
