remote starter malfunction

i recently purchased a f150 fx4 w/ a remote starter installed through the dealer by an outside contractor. i understand that the starter is basically an aftermarket product, but has anyone experienced a situation where the remote start would not work after their vehicle sat for a period of time (about 9 hours)? this has happened to me twice and the only consistency i have found is that the outside temperature was about 80 degrees. any thoughts?
