New Powerstroke

Anyone have any info on the new 6.4 PSD? I haven't seen much about it on this board yet, but from what I have heard, it's going to be a twin turbo 6.4 diesel. What have y'all heard, and how does it sound like it's going to compare to the 6.0, the Cummins and the Duramax? Thoughts, speculation, info, all opinions welcome (yes, even you two, sinister73 and Ev2Demon)!

Aw shucks...

The ordering guide for the 05 Super Duty shows it still with a 6.0 PSD. It will get a minor bump in HP and Torque, but still be slightly below the Cummins numbers, at 570 ft/lb.

I've heard rumors about the 6.4, and I thought it might make production in 05, but it doesn't look like it. I don't know any specs about it yet either.I sure hope it's a beast, things can only get better for the consumer when the companies are in a power battle. How far off can 700 ft/lb be?

Here is the 05 ordering guide:

Yeah, I heard that it will be at least 2007 before it gets here. The new SuperDuty looks awesome!

I borrowed this link from a member who posted it on f150online.com.
No time to read the ordering guide now, kind of busy at work, but does it have the GVWR of the 2005 SD in there?

I was expecting more change that just a few chromed parts. It looks like it's using all the same basic sheetmetal. It looks better and all, but not much change, really.

Boy I was hoping for a change in the dashes something like the new f-150. Not saying that it had to be like the f-150 but something different. That is one of the plainest thing on these trucks. When will they start selling these new 05's?

As for this new "6.4" any more specs on this thing anyware?

Should be this fall when we get the new SD. No more word on the 6.4.

Latest word on new diesel that I have seen says another year or two. From the implied tone, it sounds like they can't get it out quick enough.

I am kinda scared to buy a 6.0 thinking that they may offer something better in 2006, but I admit that I am a little crazy and neurotic about having the absolute BEST truck out there.

Yeah, everything that I have ever read has said that it would be 2007 at the earliest before we saw the new diesel. That's when the emissions regulations change, isn't it?

I was just gonna put out a post about when someone would come out with a twin turbo diesel. I was thinking about that today and wondered why no one has made any sort of aftermarket option to put a twin turbo set-up on the Powerstroke. I figured it'd be easier than a Cummins since it's the V-8 design, a turbo for each bank. I was thinking I would keep my 7.3L diesel until it cracks out, but if they come out with a twin turbo, and I love the look of the 2005 super duties, I think I might have to trade up.

Yeah, it has taken them a while to come up with a twin turbo setup. I agree, it would go better on a V8 than on an I6.

My thought is by the time they come out with the next PSD it'll have to be something so totally awsome that'll wash the bad taste of the 6.0 out of everybodys mouth. I think that the next PSD will be something to marvel at...
