Question collum? or neutral start switch

Hey out there
I Have a 91 f150 351w 4x4 . The other day I was at the store and the sucker just would not turn over. Key turns power comes on, but no start. I can jump the starter relay and she starts up and runs fine. Today I pulled the cylinder and replaced it with new key. Not broke but real close. I also replaced the starter swich on my collum. I am still not getting the starter to engage. The key rotates, locks, unlocks and power comes on. It just feels real soft going into start. I had had problems with the manual shifter getting stuck in reverse for a bit when this all started. With a little firm guideance it will start moving freely again. I monkeyed with the Manual lever position sensor(aka neutral) and linkages to it. All moves smooth and easy. Yet once in a while it will get stuck in drive or some thing. My dad on the phone is preaching Neutral start switch. I think it is inside the collum? Any and all help is awesome.

The actuating rod from the tumbler to the switch also could be out of adjustment.

You can by-pass the neutral safety switch using a wire loop.
Doing this will be a sure fire way to figure out which area is bad.

Thumbs up

The actuator rod was broke. It realy is a big pain to get that joker out. Took me about 4 hours to get it all done. Now I am having trouble getting the starter switch in the perfect position. Some times she starts some time she don't. Thanks for the help.
