They never made them, but I do recall someone saying you could get a kit to make them.

Yes, there was a kit. I had 1 for a while back in mid 90s. I did the kit. It was a fenders, spacers and new wheels in the kit. Got alot of stares with it.

To many to mention.

i saw a 82-88 with the dually fenders, but instead of duals it had real wide rear tires. j.c. whitney has rims and fenders you can buy to build it. i thought about it once, but decided against it. the 7.5 rear end can only take so much no matter if it runs duals or singles. i like the look though.

The bolt on Dual wheel kits like J.C. Whitney offers are dangerous if you carry heavy loads. They don't increase your truck's GVWR. A true one ton dual rear has two sets of bearings a side; centred on the tires. A single rear with bolt-on duals still has a single bearing set a side. As a matter of fact the outside tire causes sideways pressure on the bearing because the force is no longer centred on the bearing. The mini motorhome builders, that used Toyota chassis's, had this problem in 1985 when they bolted a second wheel to the rear tires. There were numerous failures that caused accidents, lawsuits and a safety recall by Toyota in the US. Toyota fixed the problem in 1986 by supplying a full floating, dual wheel, 6 bolt, 1 ton rear on their truck chassis for the motorhome builders. Don't use these bolt on dually kits and be an accident waiting to happen. As the Toyota motorhome axle failures of the mid 80's models proved; the lucky one's rolled into the ditch and not into opposing traffic when their bearings failed and the axles broke.
