My "new" 86 F150 4x4 needs a replacement transfer case. It's got the NP208 with rear slip yoke in it now, and it appears to be stuck in neutral (and nothing seems to work to get it to go into gear). A good tranny shop could always fix it for you. They usually don't charge much for something like that, if you find the right place.

I think they would since the PO apparently sheared quite a few teeth off the high-range gears. It's screwed.
