I just picked up a 96 f250 psd from the original owner (only 58,000 miles). I have a question about a connector mounted under the steering wheel. the previous owner told me it was a diagnostic port and was there when he bought it brand new, and he has never modified anything on the truck. there is a red LED on the top of it, I found the diagnostic port under the glove box (same place as my F 150) and I havent had time to get my factory manuals for this truck, so any help would be appreciated.

 

Sounds like a dealer installed secutiry system. There is one on my truck too but I refused to buy it from them and then they ****ed me off so I never went back for them to remove it.
