Steps that bolt to frame?
Hi,
I have an 1984 F-250 4X4 HD and am looking to purchase some steps for my wife to get in the cab. (she's only 5'0" tall) I have found many styles available but they all seem to bolt to the bottom of the cab. My question is if anyone knows of an aftermarket set of steps (or step bars) that bolt to the frame?
I am a large person 6'2" and 300 lbs and i'm woried that steps on the cab will eventually crack the floor.
Any Ideas?
Andy

You really shouldn't have any problem locating a direct bolt on set for your truck. I have a set for a late model application from DeeZee mfg.
Bought them at a local truck & hitch specialty shop, about same price as trying to get some from eBay.
There are several mfg offering them, just be sure it says "no drilling" or "direct bolt on".

I don't know what it's worth, but I have 4 of the small Steelhorse truck steps that mount to the pinch weld, and underside of the cab, and they have held up great so far. True, the've only been on for half a year, but I've had no problems whatsoever.
I use mine every time I get in/out of my truck, and without getting into details, I would love to get down to your weight, if it were possible. My wife and kids use them all the time as well, as they absolutely cannot get it without them, and they really like them.
