Worst: the DVD player. I know parents say this thing is indispensable on a long trip, but I just think it's incredibly overpriced. A portable is less than half the cost, and you can move it from vehicle to vehicle.

Best: without a doubt, the "vibration massage" unit. Now, I didn't get it on mine, but I guess some people here on FTE did. I have a lot of back problems, and if I knew about this option sooner, I surely would have ordered it (my salesman's an "idiot," so he was no help). The heated seats, combined with a nice, soothing vibrational massage would be just the ticket on those long trips.

Come on, you knew SOMEONE would mention it sooner or later......

Don't go there MarkII! I'm trying to ignore those threads!

One think I can't believe they didn't have is the COOLED seats as well... what gives?

I agree, the DVD is overpriced!

I have the DVD in our van and it is awesome, but yes it is a bit overpriced. Have they ever come out with it yet. I have seen some Ford factory units on Ebay for about $300. I have a mooroof, so I'm not sure if I could do a ceiling mount.

I have the seat and steering wheel vibration, and it's an option I would like to delete.

additional Lariat options I wish for: seek button on the steering wheel, dual climate, self dimming outside mirrors, power folding mirrors, and Onstar.
I had a GMC with all those, but I had to get the new F150 body style, and you can't beat the room in the Supercrew. Just wish me luck on getting rid of the vibration.

Worst:

18" wheels and tires that reduce the GCWR by 500 lbs.

So if you want the Lariat you automatically take a 500 lb reduction in GCWR because the 18" wheels/tires are standard.

Limited leather options.

If you want leather you either have to get the FX4 with floor shifter (one less seat), or the Lariat (with reduced GCWR). Leather not available on XLT.

No defroster available on rear slider.

No side impact air bags.

Only two-tone color available on Lariat is Arizona Beige.

Best:

5.4L

Trailer Tow Package

Power Moonroof

Wish list(XLT)

Limp mode and vibration delete package. Dash illumination package (mirror ****, radio ****, dash dimmer ****, shift on fly ****, 12V accessory ****, etc.). Heavy duty window defroster with rear heat ducts. Wiper option that clears entire driver's vision.

Best: Audiophile, and power rear sliding window

Worst: DVD player (to expensive), overhead rail (maybe I'll change my mind on this one soon if they ever come out with something nice to put up there. The additional bins seem a bit overpriced, I wish now I had went with the moonroof instead).

Best - Tow/HD package

Worst - Skid plates not standard on 4X4. The front tow hooks are standard on all 4X4 so why not the skids. No rear window movement for a SCAB in the XL only in the higher trims. Finally a 4X4 that looks like a 2WD, unlevel look.

Want:
Lariat WITHOUT Leather OR
Tan/beige leather that's not so light colored.

Chrome trim on lariat that doesn't feel as cheap. (Shifter, epsecially)

Trip computer / white guages available on XLT, like a sport package but not the FX4.

It'd be nice if you could just build your own with the features you want and not the features you don't. Why does everything have to be in packages?
(Yes, I know this makes assembly cheaper).

If I travel to Paris, would you entertain the thought of swapping out seats with me? I have the 3 childrens and the leather would be easier to keep clean.

I don't have the leather. That's the whole reason I didn't buy the Lariat, because the leather was too lite of a color. Sad when that one thing was holding me back. Oh well.
I have an XLT. You can see in my gallery.

The lack of a full power seat (even in upscale Lincolns!) is a shot in the ****.
