My boss has a 02 L and called me yesterday saying it was broken. Evidently, the OD light on the shifter is blinking, the "service engine soon" is on, and he can't drive it past like 10mph. He said the engine bogs down and won't let him drive it. I assume the computer is restricting his driving because something is wrong with the transmission. Am I correct?
I had the same problem. OD light on and the trans wouldn't shift past second. A sensor on the trans had to be replaced by the dealer, luckily it was still under warranty.
Found out what it was. The 02 sensor's wire got melted against the manifold. The dealership did a recall, and didn't tighten the manifold enough, so he had to bring it back for them to tighten it. I guess when they did it this time they didn't secure the 02 wires. All is fixed now.
