I JUST BOUGHT MY 01 F150 SUPERCREW ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND WAS WANDERING IF ANYONE KNEW WHAT EXACTLY THE OFFROAD PACKAGE IS? IS IT JUST A DECAL ON THE TRUCK? DOES IT HAVE ANYTHING DIFFERENT THEN JUST THE 4x4? I WAS JUST WANDERING ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
On the window sticker from my '03 Supercrew 5.4 FX4 Off Road, it reads this:
FX4 Off Road Equipment Group
.P265/70R-17 OWL All Terain Tires
.3.73 Ratio Limited Slip Axle
.17" Cast Aluminum Wheels (4)
Hi RST1000 and welcome to the forums
Yes, the OFFROAD package is the same on all versions of the 2001 trucks.
17" wheels and tires, skid plates, and heavy duty (stiffer) shocks. I have one myself and I love it. Mine is a SuperCab too.
My truck is a regular 4X4 with tow package. It does not have the "off road" package but has the same things listed for the "off road" package except the 17" wheels and tires and decal. It has the 3.55 LS rear end, skid plates and heavy duty shocks.
How much extra do you pay for the decal and 17" wheels?
1999 F150 XLT 4x4 super-cab,
4.6L auto tow package
Flowmaster 50 series,
Superchip 1715 Microtuner
Cold air intake
4.10 Gears LS
2 inch Lift
I Did Not Pay Anything Extra For The Package. I Bought It Used And Was Just Wandering What It Amounted Too. I Bought The Truck For 21,500 Dollars With 27,000 Miles On It. The Truck Is Loaded With Everything Even Has A Sunroof I Think I Got A Good Deal. Blue Book Is Like 26,500
I bought mine a year ago for $20,500 with 26,400 miles on it. It was a lease return at a local dealer. I have been very pleased with it. The skid plates and stuff do add extra weight and hamper performance a little, but with all of the power lost thru the transfer case and the added weight of the front axle, the skid plates really don't hurt much. But the sticker does look better than just the regular old 4x4 by itself
hey lxman1 sounds like you got a good deal too. I just got mine and was wandering what type of exhaust would sound better flowmaster or magnaflow I have heard mixed reviews I know I want to do one or the other I just can't decide which
Don't suppose your dad's looking for a son to adopt, is he??
I guess I can't complain, though; I just recently saved several thousand on a motorcycle I bought through a "going out of business" type sale so I guess that balances things out.
