What tools do I need to change front brake pads?
I'm changing the front pads on a 98 F-150 XL V6 2x4
It's for a friend and I have to do it at there house therefore I need to take whatever tools I need from home.
I know I need a jack and tire iron to remove wheel and C-clamp to compress the caliper.
What do I need to remove the caliper to change out the pads?
Thanks.

Hey.
You will need a 13mm wrench to remove the caliper bolts. You will need an 18mm socket and pull bar to remove the caliper mount bracket if you plan to remove the rotors. An adjustable wrench works good on the wheel bearings retainer nut. A pair of plyers to remove the cotter key. Something to remove the wheel bearing dust cap, like a thin chissel that is not used for wood work anymore. a grease seal puller, and installer. You can remove the grease seal with a screwdriver, and install with a hammer VERY CAREFULLY in a pinch. The seal must go in even all the way around. something to clean the rotors with, grease to pack the bearings. A torque wrench is a good thing. Rags, and breake clean. A 12pack of cold thing six per side.
