Lightning Insurance

About how much do you guys pay in insurance for your Lightnings? I'm thinking about dropping my Ranger (never use the 4x4, and I only commute so hey get something fun!) and purchasing a used Lightning.

Thanks!

579 x 6months.

This includes an immaculate driving record, all possible discounts, multi-car discount, and the only thing im missing is the next drop for being 24.

Wow it took almost seven months for a response! Anywho, the Lightning idea is dead since I've decided to go the car route. Funny thing is....if I did in fact get a Lightning it's only 40 bucks a year more to insure than my Ranger! And I'm 20!

I don't know about the Gen II Lightnings, but there is apparently no special identification for the Gen I, as my insurance company thinks it's just a 2wd, std cab, sht bed, with an auto and a v8. That's all it really is I guess...

I guess the lower insurance cost would almost make up for the fuel costs vs. a mustang if I didn't stay on the road with it...

Yeah I am 20 also and I would like to get a used second generation L in about a year. I have an at fault wreck and a minor speeding ticket on my record. It is $750 every six months on my 98 Ranger for liability (parents will not pay for full coverage.) I can only imagine what it would be on a L...

one suggestion I have is to check into taking a defensive driving video class. With State Farm they give you a $160 discount annually if you watch a video at home call a certain phone number at times then fill out a questionaire and your done... Seems like a good tradeoff for me if you fall into their targetted age group.
