Supercharger questions for the gurus

i was thinking about something, my buddy has a Eaton M90 charger from a T-Bird supercoupe that he said i could have...its a 3.8L 6Cyl and ive been told that its the same engine as ours with some exceptions....will this unit bolt on? our compression ratios are 9.2:1 and the supercoupe was 8.2:1 will this affect the engine??? im not too keene on superchargers but if itll work its a freebie so ill bolt it on....please let me know if you know about this.

thanks

Yea, you'll need to swap a couple of parts out on the install due to the fact that a mustang 3.8's TB (which is where you hook up to the intakes) is facing the driver's side firewall ( I think ) and our trucks face the front of the engine. Of course that 'might' not make a difference...just clearance issues and crap. But it may work fine cause I'm no SC guru as the post requests. If it's free, what have you got to loose right?

As of right now there is no way to get that supercharger to work on your split-port style heads. There are a couple guys down in Texas, and one up in Canada that are working on making adapters, but who knows when they'll be finished. If it's free I say take it and hold on to it...or give it to me

Won't you also need a custom chip for that? Can you run a custom SC job with the stock computer settings? I know that the specific kits come with chips. Like Garrett's kit for instance. His kit was specifically designed for his truck and he still has tons of problems with it. I don't think this will be as easy as it seems. I think once you start installing it, you'll run into other problems that you weren't expecting. But, like V6 says, if it's free...take it.

I know you will have to get yourself a new manifold for sure. I don't know how difficult it would be to mate the manifold to the block, but I hear it isnt an easy fabrication. Good luck to ya.

well the M90 isnt a roots blower it has a port for both intake and pressured output into the engine as if it were an accessory driven unit like a paxton...it just sits on the block like a roots style blower with a snout....but there are 2 diffrent ports on this unit one is the throttle body side for the intake and the other is to the engine through the intake line....kinda weird but thats what i can make of it....i may just snap it up and hang on to it and see what i can do to it.

I got rid of the Busa. I got tired of making payments on bike (I have been my whole life) and I needed it off my credit so I could get the house. So I sold it and made 2K. I took the 2K, added 3K and bought the DR650 outright. And I gotta tell you, I've owned every single type of bike known to man in my life, and the DR650 (although neither beautiful nor a status symbol bike) is the most fun bike I've ever owned. I'm never getting rid of it.

Yeah, watch me destroy it at Felda. Pretty indestructible man, you'll see. And much more challanging to ride than a quad, although I can't carry a cooler full of beer whilst riding
