Oil Pan

Hi Guys,

I am going to start doing my own oil change on my PSD. Can anyone
recommend where and what kind of high capacity oil drain pan I can use?

THanks

Oil Pan

Go to Walmart and pick up the largest pan they sell, something that holds around 4 gallons. Thats where I got mine, but there has got to be a better way to catch all that oil.

That sure is a ton of oil. I use Simple Green to clean equipment and what not. If you have a auto part store or stomething similar to a Farm and Fleet store they should be able to get Simple Green concentrate in a 5 GAL jug type deal. After its all gone these are perfect to hold the old oil as they do hold 5 GAL They have about a 4 inch threaded cap. I will try to get a pic up soon, just so you have an idea of what they look like.

Oil Pan

If you have a friend who has a boat and is getting a new 6 gallon gas can, ask him for old one. Just cut the top out. You can find them at yard sales for a few $$$. 6 gallon drain pan is not bad. Also look for a good 5 gallon container with a cap. Put the old oil in it and return it to the store. My friend mixes it 1 guart the 5 gallons with diesel and burns it in his truck. I tell him it's not a good idea but said he has done it all his life with his trucks?????...Richard

Oil Pan

Change the oil when there is no wind. It's a long way up to that plug and filter. The thin stream of oil gets blown all over. Also punch a hole in the bottom of the oil filter befor you take it down. That way you will not have much oil running down the filter sides. It can get slick and you may drop it. That's my 2 cent worth again...Richard
