AIS air filter
Has anyone replaced the 6.0 AIS air filter with an aftermarket filter? Have you noticed any change in performance?

How good is the stock AIS?
It is my understanding that the stock AIS is maybe something to leave alone on the 6.0's? I would like to know more about this subject myself.

If you use the search feature you'll find a lot of different opinions on this subject. Search for "K&N" and you'll find plenty of reading material.

Dealer told me that there would be no adverse effects on changing to an aftermarket filter or Cold Air induction system.............

I think the real question that is being asked is if there is any performance gain, not adverse effects.

I have the AFE 7 filter unit on mine and I am happy with it. I installed it at the same time as the exhaust and Edge module so as far as power increase I can't be certain, but if you rice the replacement filter at over $80.00 then it would only take 2-3 replacements to pay for the AFE 7. I like the way the AFE fits into the stock lacation and has the OEM look. I hope this helps.

Donaldson makes the filter for the 6.0. The stock filter is a pretty heavy duty filter that was originally designed for military service in Desert Storm. I wouldn't risk dusting the turbo or fighting the warranty hassle if I did with an aftermarket device.
That is my opinion. This subject is almost as volatile as "what is the best oil".

and please note that what your DEALER says about upgrades is NOT necessarily what Ford will say about those same upgrades if there is a problem...
